2016 Honda Civic Subwoofer Enclosure

2016 Honda Civic Hatchback Subwoofer Enclosure

Designing and building new subwoofer enclosures is an important part of our business. As new vehicles become available, we strive to build quality subwoofer enclosures for these vehicles. Our new 2016 Honda Civic Subwoofer Enclosure meets this goal.

There are 3 models of Honda Civic for 2016. A coupe, sedan and hatchback. Our subwoofer box currently fits the hatchback only.

Subwoofer Box Fitment

Our new 2106 Honda Civic subwoofer enclosure fits only those hatchback model with a flat floor. Some models have a hump in the rear area that will prevent the subwoofer box from fitting.

To install the subwoofer box  you will need to have the trunk open. Place it in the front part of the trunk and then slide it back until it reaches the back seats.

Built from 3/4″MDF, our Civic subwoofer box has 7.5″ of mounting depth. Deep enough to hold 12″ subwoofers including the JL Audio 12W3 and the Kicker L7 12″ solo baric. Airspace measures in at 1.01 cubic feet per chamber. For a single subwoofer we can build a mono chamber box with 2.02 cubic feet of air space. For those subwoofers requiring less air space, we can reduce the air space to meet the required air space needed. We do not charge an extra fee for service.

Carpet color options included charcoal, black dark grey and tan. Standard speaker terminals are spring loaded plastic tab terminals. The upgraded terminals are screw down metal post terminals that also accept banana plugs.

The acoustic stuffing option is used when the air spaced needed is a little greater then what the box has. Acoustic stuffing will give you a 10-15% increase in air space. This is done by slowing down the air wave as they past through the box.

We offer a wide variety of subwoofer enclosures for the Honda Civic, visit our website for a complete listing.

Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Subwoofer box

One of the questions we receive a lot of now is “will your dual subwoofer box fit my 2017 Tacoma Double Cab”.

In 2016, Toyota started to make changes to the Tacoma Double Cabs by adding cabin vents to the back cab wall area. We have altered our 2016 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab subwoofer box to fit  by narrowing the top of the box. This allows the cabin vents to stay in place and the subwoofer box  not to press up against the vents. Our dual, single, triple and single with amp rack subwoofer boxes will all fit the 2016 Tacoma Double Cab.

In 2017,  a power window motor was added to the back wall cab area at the base of the wall. Located on the passengers side, the power window motor prevents our dual and triple subwoofer box from fitting behind the seat. Our single subwoofer box will still fit all of the 2017 Tacoma Double Cab models. The power window motor does not appear to be installed on the SR5 models.

Subwoofer Box Fitment

All of our 2005-2017 Tacoma subwoofer boxes still offer up to 6 inches of mounting depth. This allows you to fit a wide variety of full size 10 inch subwoofers in the box. When installing the box, the plastic trim molding will need to be removed from the back cab wall. Then slide the box down in behind the seat. The notch in the back of the box fits around the rail on the back cab wall.

All of our subwoofer boxes are built to order and made in the USA

Does my subwoofer box need a divider?

Tacoma Double Cab single subwoofer box with amp rack

Everyone seems to have an opinion and as a subwoofer box manufacturer we provide boxes that come with or without dividers as ultimately it is the customers choice.

Subwoofer box divider

Things to consider when deciding whether to add a divider or not are:

1)  Sharing air space will not affect the subs performance. If you have two subwoofers requiring 1.0 cubic feet of air per sub and your box has 2.0 cubic feet the subs will share the space and perform fine, provided they are the same sub and receive the same signal.

2)  Putting a divider into your subwoofer box will provide a stronger and more rigid box and give it better internal bracing.

3)  If one of your subwoofers blows, having a divider will allow you to continue using the other subwoofer and decrease the chance the other subwoofer will blow.

If you have thoughts one way or another on dividers we would love to hear from you. Email us at support@supercrewsound.com and give us your feedback.

2017 F250 Crew Cab Subwoofer Box

2017 F250 Crew Cab Subwoofer Box

When we set out to build a new 2017 F250 Crew Cab Subwoofer Box the first thing that changed from our 2008-2016 F250 subwoofer box was how the seats attached to the floor. You will notice 2 small notches cut into the bottom of the box. These notches fit around the seat attachment brackets on the floor ensuring fitment. These notches cause  any cutout in the middle of the box to have to shift up therefore reducing the mounting depth to around 4.25″ compared to 5.25″ of mounting depth available on each end of the box.

The top of the subwoofer box has a notch cut in to fit around the power sliding window motor. The passenger’s side of the box is also lower then the driver’s side due to hardware on the passenger’s side.

Subwoofers size that can used

The 2017 F250 Crew Cab Subwoofer Box can hold a variety of subwoofer combinations. This includes 2-8’s, 2-10’s ,2-12’s or 1-13″. Customers can also have it built to hold one subwoofer and use the other side to have an amp rack. Due to the lower Passenger’s side of the box  2-13″ subwoofers will not fit.

The 2017 F250 Crew Cab Subwoofer Box will restrict ever so slightly the folding up of the rear seats when installed. If so desired the holes where the seat bolts attach into, can be widen by a 1/4″  allowing the bolts to slide forward and thus the seat will move forward just enough to allow the folding up of the rear seats.

All of our subwoofer boxes are built in the USA and built as the orders come in. No pulling a 6 month old box off the shelf, built overseas collecting dust and mildew. Fresh wood delivered weekly. We welcome any ideas you may have to improve our products. Thank you
